What information is processed and why?

  • Purchases and delivery: names, contact details, billing and delivery addresses, products ordered, payment status and order history are used to handle purchases, payments, deliveries, returns and complaints. The legal basis is performance of a contract or steps taken at your request before a purchase.
  • Accounting and legal requirements: order and payment records are processed to meet legal obligations. Information may also be necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, based on a legitimate interest.
  • Customer service and advice: contact details and messages are processed to answer questions and provide the help you request. The legal basis is a contract or Baby Kanga's legitimate interest in providing customer service. Only send information needed for your enquiry. Avoid health information and identifiable images of children unless necessary. Contact Baby Kanga before sending sensitive information so that the need and appropriate handling can be assessed.
  • Security: IP addresses, device and browser details and usage information may be processed to operate the website, detect misuse and prevent fraud. The legal basis is Baby Kanga's legitimate interest in a secure store. The country estimated from an IP address is also used for geographical access restrictions.
  • Statistics, advertising and newsletters: usage information and preferences may be processed for statistics and marketing. Consent is used for non-essential cookies and similar technologies where required by law. Newsletters are sent with consent or where applicable rules permit marketing to existing customers. You can always unsubscribe and object to direct marketing.

Information mainly comes from you, your use of the website and service providers handling payments, delivery and store technology. Payment details are handled by the payment provider; Baby Kanga does not need your full card number. Information needed to process and deliver an order is necessary to complete the purchase. You do not need to consent to marketing to shop here.

Who receives the information?

Necessary information is shared with Shopify to operate the store, payment providers to process payments, carriers for delivery and suppliers shipping your order directly to you. A supplier handling direct delivery receives the contact and delivery information needed. Providers of IT, storage, security, statistics and marketing services may process information for their services. Authorities and advisers may receive information where legally required or necessary for a legal claim. Recipients who independently determine the purposes and means of processing are responsible under their own privacy policies.

Shopify and other websites

The store uses Shopify. Shopify processes information to provide and improve its services. Baby Kanga also uses Shopify's enhanced services, where usage information may be combined with information from other stores for purposes including personalised services and advertising, subject to applicable privacy choices and legal requirements. Read Shopify's consumer privacy policy and use Shopify's privacy portal for questions about Shopify's own processing. Links to YouTube and social media lead to external services with their own privacy policies.

Cookies and your choices

Essential cookies allow the store and checkout to function. You can manage other cookie choices in the website's cookie settings. You may change or withdraw consent without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. You can also restrict cookies in your browser, although this may affect some features. Retention and international transfers

Information is retained for as long as needed for its purpose. Order records may need to be retained under accounting rules and for complaints or legal claims. Customer service information is retained for as long as the enquiry and any follow-up questions or claims require. Marketing information is used until you unsubscribe or the purpose ends; a limited suppression record may be needed to respect your choice.

Shopify and other providers may process information outside the EU/EEA. These transfers must comply with the GDPR, for example through an adequacy decision or European Commission standard contractual clauses together with any required safeguards. Your rights

Subject to the GDPR's conditions, you have rights to information and access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests and always object to direct marketing. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it. Erasure may be limited by statutory retention requirements, for example.

You may complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) or the relevant supervisory authority in your country. The store is intended for adult buyers and guardians. Rights under other privacy laws
