Vanamo Kide Leimu ring sling - The dark burgundy & warm orange! A summer variant of the popular "Kide Hehku"! Brand new mix: soft and airy kapok mixed with linen, organic cotton and bourette silk! The Bay wrap is strong and supportive yet soft and thin to the touch. Suitable for babies of different ages and toddlers. An illustrated instruction manual will be included (English).

Vanamo baby wraps are organic and ethically made in Finland from pure natural materials. Due to their special weaving technique, Vanamo wraps are soft, malleable and strong. You can comfortably carry the baby from birth to toddlerhood. Woven wrap breathes and is cool.

Read the user manual carefully before you start using the carrier. You can also watch some video tutorials on Youtube.

The combination of linen, silk and Kapok makes the ring shawl light and airy - yet strong and supportive. Although the Vanamo linen-silk shawl is cool and airy for summer, the shawl can be used in all seasons. This medium weight shawl is perfect for babies of all ages as well as toddlers. The Vanamo wrap will soften up fairly quickly through use and wear.

Bourette silk is a very lively and irregular yarn and it contains lots of little lumps and nubs, and it may even contain a small amount of hay-like organic matter. Bourette silk makes the fabric very structured and gives the shawl a good grip.

Kapok is a very light plant fiber with a hollow structure. 80% of kapok fiber is air! Kapok is spun with organic cotton which strengthens the yarn. Kapok makes the fabric more porous and breathable, and it is also thermoregulating. Due to its lightness, the percentage of Kapok in the total weight of the fabric is low but the percentage in volume is higher.

The Vanamo Kide fabric is a complex blend of twill and tabby weave that creates the unique structured, porous and comfortable baby wrap. The rich crystal pattern is inspired by the old handwoven Finnish linen textiles. After the first wash, the fabric will fluff up and the unique structure will emerge.

How to care for your Vanamo wrap :

Hand wash in cold water (30 degrees), hang or tumble dry, iron on low heat. Use steam to iron the wrap while it is still slightly damp. NO tumble drying!

We recommend that you wash the baby wrap before you start using it. The wrap becomes softer and easier to wrap after washing and ironing, and the fabric gets its optimal structure and density. Each baby wrap has a little extra length to shrink.
